Roll like a pro- sushi schools are back! Join us in our weekly sushi making schools where you’ll learn about the history of sushi, the delicious ingredients used, knife cutting skills, and- of course- how to roll your very own sushi!

Here at YO! we’ve been rolling sushi for over 20 years- so by now we know our Tataki from our Temaki- and we want to bring our knowledge to you! We believe in quality ingredients, fresh flavours and authentic Japanese food, and we’re on a mission to create a nation of sushi lovers like us!

These classes are perfect for any budding sushi chefs out there, so whether you’re a Maki Master or Inari newbie you’ll pick up some great new skills to take home- as well as a delicious selection of sushi to enjoy. Our classes last around two hours with full instruction from a YO! sushi master who will guide you every step of the way. You’ll be in a group with other class-goers so you’ll get to enjoy the experience together and you’ll have the option to tuck into your creations at the end, or pack them up to enjoy later!

Your menu will look like:

Salmon Sashimi slice/Inari to taste

Salmon Nigiri/Inari Nigiri

Cucumber Maki

Crunchy Cali Roll/Kyoto Garden Roll

Salmon & Avocado Hand Roll/Yasai Hand Roll

Please note that the above could change depending on the number of people in the class, their dietary requirements, and if we have any specials on the menu that day.

Your Sushi School ticket includes:

Your arrival drink – Soft drink if you've purchased Standard ticket, or Cawston press juice for kids tickets

Edamame and gyozas to share

Organiser

YO! Sushi
We burst onto the restaurant scene in 1997, when we shook up London's Soho and showed the UK a new way of eating. Part of that was the 'kaiten' conveyor belt and colour-coded dishes which made our name. We still believe in eating in colour. Fast forward to today and we have close to 100 restaurants all over the planet. If we had a middle name, it'd be 'fresh'. We serve all our dishes on the day we make them. And you might even be able to watch yours being created by our chefs in our open kitchens.

Wonderful experience and I learnt what I wanted to from this. The person delivering the workshop was very interesting, interactive and did the best job he could in the very small space we had. However, the hygiene was not to the standard I would of preferred, such as asking people to pass the nori and other ingredients by hand down the table. I know everyone was wearing gloves, but people especially the children were licking their gloves making this very unhygienic. I was only glad that I was near the front, but there was a time, when a bowl of food eg duck pieces were sent around the table without utensils, resulting in everyone dipping their gloves in the same bowl. On this occasion I was the last person and this really was bad practice. Overall it was a fun workshop that I would recommend to other people and will continue to visit yo sushi as a restaurant but the hygiene levels during workshops do need to be addressed in my opinion.

Absolutly amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute..Fin the sushi chef/instructor was so knowledgeable and gave us lots of hints and tips he was really good at explaining what to do and we went home with lots of varieties of syshi that we hand made ourselves..I bought the experience for my 12 year olds birthday and she absolutely loved it!
